Kaying Hang serves on the executive team for Sierra Health Foundation as the Senior Vice President of Programs and Partnerships and for The Center as the President. In these roles, Kaying is responsible for strategic program and partnership development, and oversees management of the foundation’s and The Center’s programs and initiatives.
Sebastian Sanchez

Deputy Secretary for Agriculture and Immigrant Workforce, California Labor & Workforce Development Agency
Upon joining California’s Labor Workforce and Development Agency (LWDA) in August of 2020, Sebastian helped design and manage LWDA’s pandemic workplace outreach efforts. Since then he has led an effort to coordinate outreach and enforcement efforts across LWDA with regard to farmworkers. He has also developed an agency-wide strategy on workforce development for farmworkers, leading to an investment of $20 million to expand and create programs to train farmworkers. Prior to being appointed to this position by Governor Newsom, he worked at Bet Tzedek Legal Services in Los Angeles as an attorney representing low wage and immigrant workers who had not been paid for their work or had experienced retaliation or discrimination in the workplace. He worked closely with various worker centers to support campaigns and launch clinics to better protect immigrant workers. Prior to Bet Tzedek, Sebastian worked for the California Rural Legal Assistance in Oxnard, representing farmworkers in claims related to their workplace rights, and at Make the Road NY, a worker center focused on supporting immigrant New Yorkers. Sebastian is a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was a Center for Social Justice Scholar, and Columbia University. Born in Colombia, he came to the United States as an undocumented immigrant when he was five years old.
Amparo Cid

Amparo Cid earned her J.D. from UC Davis and graduated magna cum laude from Santa Clara University. She is the co-founder of Cid and Macedo which is a Latina owned firm providing high level strategies and solutions for clients who are doing bold work alongside community. As the daughter of hardworking immigrant parents, Amparo uses her expertise in policy and social justice issues to create meaningful change. In her previous role at Sierra Health Foundation, she had the privilege of focusing on creating and executing grantmaking strategies with a team that is dedicated to health and racial equity.
Yessica Hernandez

Throughout her career, Yessica has executed targeted communications campaigns informed by community insights with a focus on reaching underserved populations. She has a proven track record of reaching diverse communities and has cultivated strong relationships with CBOs across California, providing one-on-one support, building capacity, and developing targeted approaches to change behavior and connect audiences to services. She has also supported families in navigating immigration cases, and advocated on critical issues including immigrants’ rights, economic justice, and community development. Yessica has strong experience managing community-led outreach campaigns, excels at designing creative projects in partnership with a coalition of stakeholders, and brings a community-first perspective to all of her work.
Chris Holben

Chris manages RSE’s operations and is responsible for strategic counsel, business development, and long-range planning. As the agency’s public relations director, he manages teams, develops strategy and oversees the work of all agency public relations accounts. Highly successful in developing political and public policy-oriented messaging, Chris has led many social marketing/behavior change campaigns on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and many California state agencies. His expertise in federal and statewide campaigns has been instrumental in successfully reaching diverse, underserved and hard-to-reach populations. With a passion for community involvement, Chris serves on the boards of the California Chamber of Commerce, the Crocker Art Museum and the Salvation Army.
Keisha Brown

With almost three decades of integrated marketing communications experience targeting African American and Black populations, Keisha works with clients to develop nuanced, culturally relevant strategies and communications for diverse audiences. A Los Angeles native, Keisha brings in-depth knowledge of managing public relations, advertising, and marketing public awareness campaigns for local and statewide clients. Keisha manages the creative and media planning and buying teams at LAGRANT and plays an integral role in providing integrative and innovative services to all clients.
Giselle Sanchez

Community Advocate, California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA)
Giselle has been an effective community advocate for CRLA, which serves low-income individuals across 22 counties. As rural areas and small cities of California continue to change, so does the organization’s outreach and service to diverse communities, prioritizing justice and individual rights alongside the most exploited communities in California. Through legal assistance and connection to wraparound services, CRLA works toward a rural California where all people are treated with dignity and respect and guaranteed their fundamental rights.
